#1

Ways I am planning on saving money:

1. Pay off credit cards (and pay off whole balance every month if I do use them - good for Credit Rating)
2. Open a savings account (long term investment)
3. Subscribe to my favourite magazines (cheaper and less temptation to buy rubbish ones on a whim)
4. Join a public lending library close to work eg. Barbican Library (less money spent on books, many of which I only read once anyway)
5. Do a weekly shop (by buying only what I need I'll be less tempted to eat out/buy crap on the way home)
6. Take advantage of places like the Notting Hill Exchange to trade in old clothes/book/shoes
7. Buy quality, not quantity (especially relevant when it comes to clothes, gadgets, etc.)
8. Get financial papers/statements in order. (important to keep an eye on these things so I don't run into trouble)
9. Free or discounted haircuts at student nights (I've done this before and it ain't all bad (but it does take ages, besides, hair grows. Get over it)
10. Bring my lunch to work. (£5 a day on lunch = £25 a week = £100 a month, you do the maths and tell me if that makes sense?)

Of these, I only already do two. Number 8 and 10.

2 of 10 ain't bad. For now.

Any other ideas anyone?
